Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance for chiropractic treatments?
Yes, we accept most extended health care (EHC) insurance plans that include chiropractic services as part of paramedical coverage. Patients can pay by credit card, debit card, or cash. We will provide a statement via email or print for your insurance claim.
Please note that some insurance plans may only cover part of the treatment fees and may require a medical doctor’s note for paramedical service claims. It’s important to check with your insurance company for specific details. Remember, while insurance provides some subsidies, your health is invaluable.
Will I feel any discomfort during chiropractic adjustments?
Generally, no. However, you may experience minor aches in the area of adjustment before the treatment due to inflammation and minor soreness afterward as your joints and soft tissues adapt to the newly corrected biomechanics.
What can I expect during my first visit to your practice?
When you arrive, you’ll be warmly greeted by our friendly staff. If you haven’t completed your intake forms online, we’ll have you do so upon signing in. The examination procedures include checking your blood pressure, performing a 3D digital scan of your feet, and taking a detailed health history. You’ll also watch a video explaining how Activator Methods work before meeting with the chiropractor to complete the rest of the examination.
You will then choose a care plan, set your health goals with the doctor, and sign a consent form. Your chiropractor will prepare a treatment plan to start adjustments at your next visit (Report of Findings). The first visit typically takes 45 minutes to an hour. Please bring any medical or diagnostic imaging reports and a list of medications.
Are there any potential risks involved in chiropractic treatment?
Chiropractic care is considered one of the most conservative forms of natural health care available. The Activator Methods technique we use allows for adjustments in a neutral position, with a controlled, low-force instrument targeting specific areas of the body.
How soon can I anticipate seeing improvements after receiving chiropractic care?
Improvement varies by patients and the severity of the condition. Some patients notice immediate results after an adjustment, while others may take a few days. The body’s ability to adapt to treatments also influences the speed of recovery.
Are there any age limits for receiving chiropractic treatment?
No, chiropractic care is suitable for patients of all ages.
Is chiropractic care safe for pregnant women or children?
Our gentle approach, especially with Activator Methods, ensures that
pregnant women and
children are always protected. For pregnant women, we provide extra cushioning with a pregnancy pillow to accommodate the extra weight on the lower body, allowing them to lie comfortably on their tummy without twisting or cracking adjustments.
How does massage therapy complement chiropractic care, and what are the benefits of combining the two?
Massage therapy is a holistic healing practice using various techniques to manipulate the body’s soft tissues. It alleviates pain and discomfort from daily stress, muscular overuse, and injuries. When combined with chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy relaxes muscles, making them more receptive to spinal and extremity adjustments. This synergy enhances the body’s ability to accept changes.
If you’re considering both treatments in one visit, we recommend it. If finances are a concern, please consult with us for options.
